Armadillo (アルマジロ) is a platform game developed by Aim and published by IGS and released for the Family Computer on August 9, 1991 in Japan. The game was planned to release for the Nintendo Entertainment System in North America but was cancelled. A direct sequel was planned to release under the name Armadillo II in March 1993 but was also cancelled.

    Gameplay

In Armadillo, the player controls the armadillo, Billy the Shell, on his quest to rescue his abducted girlfriend, Cheryl. By pressing down, Billy can roll into his shell, allowing him to bounce higher and defeat enemies. While Billy is out of his shell, he can cling to and jump off of walls, but getting touched by an enemy will kill him. Billy can find presents that contain powerups in stages, often allowing him to transform into a different animal - for example, a snail that allows him to climb up walls and even the ceiling.
