Power Punch II is a fighting game developed by Beam Software and published by American Softworks and released for the Nintendo Entertainment System on June 12, 1992 in North America.
Rumor
A widely circulated rumor suggests that the game initially had its roots as a sequel to Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!. According to this narrative, Nintendo had commissioned the development of Power Punch II as a successor to Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!, but ultimately abandoned the project due to a combination of the unfolding scandals involving Mike Tyson and purported concerns about the game's quality. However, there is no evidence to suggest that Nintendo was ever involved with the development of Power Punch II. It is important to note that Nintendo released a revised version of Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! called Punch-Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream in 1990 after their license to use Mike Tyson's likeness expired.[1]
