Mahjong (麻雀) is a video game developed and published by Nintendo and released for the Family Computer on August 27, 1983 in Japan. The game also received a very limited Nintendo Entertainment System release in Hong Kong in 1987. It is the 5th game to release on Famicom, and the second mahjong game on a home console, releasing a month after Sega's version for the SG-1000. The game runs a variant of riichi mahjong, though due to technical limitations it is only 2 player (something fixed in Nintendo's later 4 Nin Uchi Mahjong). Mahjong was the 8th best selling Famicom game, selling over 2 million units.
