Hey, I'm Aux. I own and play a lot of Wii games. I also write. I use a Grimer for representation on the internet.
I don't own the 8- or 16-bit Nintendo systems, so I don't collect for them. The games are fun. I prefer the games for the 16-bit systems. I've been learning a bit of Japanese recently so I can properly play longer Japanese-exclusives without a translation patch.

My Top Five 8-bit Nintendo Games

5. Super Mario Bros. 2

This is just a delightful game. I can beat it in twelve-ish minutes, which definitely makes up for my poor time with the first game. I just really like games where you can throw guys around, and I was ecstatic when they added an item that kinda let you play it in Super Mario Maker 2. I play as the princess.

4. Gimmick!

This one's so cute. Hard as shit, haven't gotten past the second stage, but that doesn't really matter a whole lot to me. This is definitely Sunsoft's best games. I'm glad it got rereleased for modern platforms, but am a bit miffed that the physical version is a bit expensive for a Famicom ROM and not a whole lot else, and it's through Limited Run Games, no less. But less expensive than an original cartridge. Gimmick! Yumetaro.png

3. Mega Man 2

I know people say this one's overrated and that the music's the best part of it, and I can see where they're coming from, but man this is just wonderful through and through. I've never beaten it, sure, but I've gotten very very close.

2. Golf

I just like golf games. Is this the best golf game out there? No. But this established what golf games would be to this day. Also, I play golf the sport. It's nice when it's not terribly hot.

1. Hoshi no Kirby: Yume no Izumi no Monogatari

This is my favourite Kirby game. I think that's a fairly controversial opinion within the Kirby fanbase, but I don't care. I don't like the GBA version as much as this one. It's what really established the franchise, what with the first game not having abilities and being fairly short. It's just so charming!

5. Donkey Kong Country

Monke

4. Plok!

Yeah, this is probably overrated, but it's better than Rayman. I hope this gets a release on something modern soon.

3. Super Puyo Puyo Tsuu

This isn't the best Puyo Puyo game for sure, but it's fantastic on this system. I don't like the first version a whole lot, but Tsuu is where it started to get good. I like Suketoudara :)

2. Live A Live

This was my first not-Pokémon RPG, and I was enamored by it then and still am now. The remake is fantastic. I think it would have been cool if they included a way to play the Super Famicom original in the remake, maybe translated. I don't much like the Sci-Fi chapter, but I also have issues with tension in horror settings generally. Everything else is great though! Sundown's hot.

1. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island

I stand by the idea of his name being Yossy and not Yoshi. Yossy sounds funnier. I like eating those guys and then throwin the eggs :)
