Tetris (テトリス) is an unreleased falling block puzzle game for the Family Computer Network System. The game features graphics similar to the Family Computer version of Tetris published by Bullet Proof Software. The only known public appearance of the game was during an international contest on Japanese TV which featured Tetris creator Alexey Pajitnov playing against a competitor in the United States. It is unknown why this game went unreleased.[1]

Gameplay

This version of Tetris appears to use a left-handed Nintendo Rotation System, with no lock delay, wall kick, or hard drop. It is similar to the Game Boy version of Tetris published by Nintendo. The Network System version features a two-player VS mode where the objective is to clear 30 lines. When a player clears lines, the opponent player receives garbage lines. Whoever clears 30 lines wins, alternatively whoever tops out loses.
