Ever since the dawn of video games, developers have created renditions of popular sports. Many games based on sports popular in Japan were released for the Famicom, including some of the console's best sellers.

Baseball

Baseball is Japan's most popular sport. A very large amount of baseball games were released for the Famicom, even spawning a franchise that has continued into the modern era.
Note: "Yakyuu" is the Japanese word for Baseball.
