Super Puyo Puyo Merge

This is just a reskin of Super Puyo Puyo. Wouldn't this better fit as a section in the Super Puyo Puyo page? --Randomcat2000 (talk) 01:00, 28 August 2023‎ (UTC)

Sites such as GameFaqs and TCRF to name a few have Super Puyo Puyo listed as a separate game than Kirby's Avalanche. That's not to say I completely agree with this though, situations like this are kind of weird cause on one hand Kirby's Avalanche by all means is the exact same game as Super Puyo Puyo but looking like a completely different game outside of the core gameplay. There's different types of this kind of dilemma such as Doki Doki Panic and Super Mario USA being more or less the same core game but in that case the actual game was changed to some extent when transformed into a Mario game. Where do you draw that line between completely new game and a reskin for a different region? I think for the case of Kirby's Avalanche it might be best to just merge em since there really is no point having 2 pages for what is more or less the exact same game. --Bro3256 (talk) 01:48, 28 August 2023 (UTC)
Kirby's Avalanche does not have any significant differences from Super Puyo Puyo aside from graphical and music differences - the same would apply if we had Mega Drive / Genesis games (in that I would suggest merging them with Puyo Puyo (1992)). interestingly, many places mark this set of games, the derivatives of the arcade port, as being the same as the MSX and Famicom game! I disagree with different ports being the exact same, but that's a whole other discussion. Would be worth considering creating a sub-page for Avalanche. --Bro3256 (talk) 19:53, 28 August 2023 (UTC)
