The Nintendo Entertainment System, also known as the NES.

This is a list of licensed software releases for the Nintendo Entertainment System.

The Nintendo Entertainment System was initially released in New York City on October 18, 1985 and later nationwide in North America on September 27, 1986. The console is a redesigned and rebranded version of the Family Computer initially released in Japan on July 15, 1983. The NES launched with seventeen software releases with Duck Hunt and Gyromite being the initial pack-in software for the console. The final licensed release in North America was Wario's Woods on December 10, 1994 and ended in Europe with The Lion King on May 25, 1995. Nintendo would discontinue support for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1995.

The Nintendo Entertainment System received many games within its initial lifespan although not as many compared to the Family Computer due to restrictions put in place by Nintendo in an effort to avoid a glut of poor quality software released in Japan.
